If it is possible, shop for a dress in another town or on the internet where you can be sure that you will have something different from other girls. Because the homecoming dance occurs in the fall, you will likely want to choose a dress that has a bit more coverage than a prom dress. Choose something that is off the shoulder or has a slight caped sleeve. If you really like the look of strapless or spaghetti straps look for a shrug or shawl in a coordinating color that will help keep you warm if the evening is too chilly.
